October 2007 saw the opening of Austria's largest and entirely privately owned retail undertaking for electrical products that is concentrated in one location. on two different levels, the (!)haas pyramids on Brünnerstrasse accommodate a retail area measuring a total of 4,300 m2, thus providing a shopping experience that can only be described in superlatives. Modern architecture called for a modern lighting system. So, in keeping with the company's claim of "offering the customer the best service", theme areas have been colour-coded for better orientation.

Flexible lighting scenes

The requirements made on the LED lighting solution were thus clearly defined: theme areas (the computer department, for example) were planned to be integrated, in other words, shelves and service area are illuminated in an assigned colour, e.g. green. The desired product is visible from a distance and the customer can locate the sales staff in charge easily and quickly.
The DMX control system enables selectively controlled adjustments: depending on the season or weather, colours introduce different scenes into the departments; for instance, in the spa and health & beauty section, warm colour tones enhance the feeling of well-being. Special offers, too, can be highlighted easily and without major effort by changing the colour (e.g. red).

The products used in the concept are RGB LED lines, with various LED types combined over a length of 10 cm - 1m. The system can thus render all RGB colours. Logistical areas (shelves) were combined into channels (areas with common colour) according to the specifics of the projects. The luminaires are individually controllable.
