The commercial enterprise Spar and its subsidiary Aspiag have been operating in Hungary for 16 years and now have around 200 branches of various sizes throughout the country. Rapid expansion over recent years made it necessary to expand the company's logistical capacities. A new logistics centre which meets the very latest requirements and boasts a floor space of 47,000 m² was therefore built in Üllö, roughly 35 km outside Budapest. Zumtobel and Ledon were contracted to develop a special lighting solution for this facility. |

Perfect industrial lighting with discreet visual effect
Six different luminaires with high-power LEDs were developed in order to cater for the building's various requirements: emergency luminaires with symmetrical or asymmetrical light distribution to provide illumination from mounting heights up to 12 m above floor level were fitted in the trunking between the ZX and TECTON continuous row luminaires. This lighting concept, which meets the very latest technical specifications, is rounded out by LED information signs in a cube design. A total of approximately 800 luminaires ensure optimum lighting in the new industrial building, including emergency lighting. Striking bridge illumination A bridge which is roughly 34 m long was built to provide a quick link from the access road into the building for the 600 employees who will eventually work at the site. Sixty eight luminaries, with 1 m spacings between them, were also incorporated in the bridge railings. High-power LEDs with a special optic were inconspicuously fitted to the handrail by precisely adapted metal end pieces, thus transforming an ordinary bridge into a designer object. |
